Super Bomb Survival v4.01 Update

v4.01.0 went live on 24 August 2026, three days after v4.0. Polyhex’s own post is the source: two new Skills Belly Drum and Lava Sponge; two new maps Sacred Sanctum (oredude) and Charge Station (BrokenEmp); new 10.0 music; and equipping a Loadout now equips its Skills if you are in the arena but the round has not started. Parent index: updates hub. Launch-week chaos (20 badges, 7 events, shop rewrite) stays on the v4.0 article. Darters and the mystery Perk are v4.02.

This is not a codes drop. Super Bomb Survival still has no promo codes. Codes hub.

Belly Drum (Defense Skill)

Belly Drum halves current HP (death at 10 HP) for +1 Speed, Jump, Charge, and Defense. It is a lab button for people who already clear vanilla 6.0 with Forcefield, not a first-hour roll. Hardcore starts at ~35 HP; Drum will kill you for sport. Do not default it. Catalog row: skills list. Tier placement: keep it off the skills tier list S-row until you have a clip that is not a 10 HP ragdoll.

Lava Sponge (Movement Skill)

Lava Sponge grows a platform in lava, then sinks. It exists because lava is tick damage since v3.17.7 and late clocks delete geometry. Pair Fireproof. It is a map Skill, not a bomb Skill. Open bowls on 6.0 are the use case; caves are not. Maps catalog explains why layout is a rumour at Super Intense.

Neither Skill belongs on getting started. Buy a Defense/Movement roll you can survive with, then come back.

Sacred Sanctum and Charge Station

Sacred Sanctum by oredude and Charge Station by BrokenEmp entered the vote pool. Fandom sat at 142 maps around v4.00; these two push the live pool toward 144 until someone recounts. Super Explorer wants a win on each current map and pays 100 Gems — badges. 3 Gems still force a named map (free on VIP). This wiki will not invent “best 6.0 map” letters for a three-day-old layout.

In-arena Loadout Skills

Before v4.01, forgetting to equip in the lobby meant you entered the round on the wrong kit. Equipping a Loadout now applies its Skills even if you are already in the arena waiting for the round. Perks on that Loadout follow the same shop slot rules. Hardcore still strips Perks. Use a saved row from the loadout planner instead of reopening the roulette under a siren.

Second Skill Slot (v4.0) plus this hotfix is why Forcefield + Hover is the intended pair. Gift Wrap in slot two still had day-one bugs (wrapped NPCs bricking the Skill for the rest of the round); those reports were marked fixed around v4.00.9 and later 4.02.x hotfixes. If Wrap still eats your slot, play vanilla and wait.

10.0 music

New music for Dimensional Rift / 10.0. 10.0 is still not a public queue. It is a rift modifier on a 6.0 round, made more common on Super Intense in v4.00.6. Hear the new sting, assume Homing/Hyper Nukes and a Golden Grimseeker at 0:30. Tactics: events and survive 6.0.

What v4.01 did not ship

  • No Trello.
  • No redeemable codes.
  • No official DualSense glyphs.
  • No published Belly Drum cooldown card in the tweet — do not invent one.
  • No replacement for Grimbells ignoring Forcefield.

Play the two maps once for Super Explorer. Leave Drum in the lab row. Then read v4.02 if you queued after 26 August 2026 and saw Darters.

If you only needed a one-line verdict: v4.01 is a Skills-and-maps patch plus a Loadout QoL fix. It does not change Grimbells, codes, or the 2:30 timer. Farm the same way — farm Credits — and treat Belly Drum as optional lab content next to the Hardcore guide you should not mix with a 10 HP Skill.
